"He's Back"

As you know, last school year, I was distraught over my son’s plummeting grades. Last summer I enrolled him in Huntington Learning Center.

There is no school in PG today because of some sort of teacher conference, so yesterday I picked little man up from school for the long weekend (no school Monday either because of President’s Day).

Susan S., the school’s TAG Coordinator, nearly broke her shoe heel running to catch up with me yesterday when she spotted me in the school’s corridor.

“Did you see Christopher’s report card?” she asked smiling from ear to ear.

“No. Not yet.”

“He’s back! I told him how proud we all are of him,” she said beaming.

When I saw his report card (yesterday was the day they were issued), my jaw dropped.

It was as if someone had waved an academic magic wand! Both “E’s” in major subjects were now replaced with “A’s”. The “A’s” he had in the giveaways -- gym, art, etc. – stayed in place. And “C’s” were harder to find than the proverbial “hen’s teeth.”
