Dear Jay,

My wife and I are more than happy to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of the Huntington Learning Center and its staff. A little over a year ago our son was really struggling in school. His reading wasn’t up to par, he was struggling with math and homework at night had already evolved into a daily struggle. He was becoming progressively frustrated and oppositional to the work and we were at a loss to find out a way out of the bad habits that were being developed. It was just 1st grade but we felt that we had to do something to help our son be more happy and successful at school.
We choose the Huntington Learning Center based on recommendations by friends, its convenient location and our initial discussions with you and your staff. The philosophy of doing a comprehensive evaluation and filling in the gaps to create a stable foundation to build upon made sense at the time and continues to now as well. The impact the past year of working with our son at Huntington Learning Center has been profound. Reading, which previously had been a line by line frustration and challenge for our son is now a pleasure for him. Reading in class is not anxiety producing and reading at home has become enjoyable for him. He still doesn’t necessarily want to do his homework, but when it’s time to do it no one ends up angry or in tears.
This summer, we will once again have our son working with you to help him maintain the progress that he made during the school year and to get a head start for next year. We are confident that this will help him continue to enjoy learning in school and contribute to his success and confidence.
