Dear Jay,
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for everything you have done with my son. Having observed my son in class at the beginning of his first grade and comparing his ability in reading, writing and math to his peers, I knew that I needed to get outside intervention to bring his abilities up to where they should be. I say outside help because he did not respond to me teaching him. In class I noticed that he started becoming defensive around his friends when he didn’t do as well as they did. It was crucial that I do something to address this problem as soon as possible before his self-esteem eroded and he became a discipline problem.
Having Huntington right around the corner proved to be the perfect fit. As you might remember, he scored in the lowest percentile on all of his evaluation exams. This was a real eye opener for us. Interestingly enough within the first 2 weeks of his program at Huntington, I noticed a marked improvement in his willingness to read and his overall self-esteem. He thrived with the one on one instruction. It was a tremendous relief to see his test scores increase so dramatically both at school and with the periodic testing at Huntington.
After completing his program with Huntington, I am pleased to say that he is now the most advanced math student in his class and is also in one of the top reading and writing groups. He has achieved the schools Sparthanian Award every quarter.
