I am a parent of a child who went to the Bollinger Huntington in Cupertino. I took evaluation from 2 other competing centers before deciding on this one. I am extremely happy with my choice; here is why:
Surinder, the director, takes the extra step to understand the parents' expectations and the child's current status as a baseline. I give her credit for clearly pointing out the 'gaps to fill' after the assessment. She then laid out a comprehensive, simple, and clear plan to get to where my child needed to be.
We immediately received the perfect teacher for my child's needs and personality, named Sarah. My child absolutely adores and respects her.
My child was preparing for the ERB test for private school admissions. Surinder exactly knew what was needed to excel in the test and how to get there. I really liked her approach and down to earth demeanor
I should add that when my child started here, she scored around 40% in the CA STAR test and in the evaluation test at Huntington Bollinger center. Gradually with every prep test Surinder was able to summarize how my child progressed, 'gaps' filled and the items left. I really liked meeting with her and getting all that progress and 'gaps'. The scores went from 40% to higher and higher and finally when we stopped with the center, my child was in the 90's.
Sarah the teacher was also phenomenal. She was able to connect with my child at the right note and took my child to the next level I should say. She was also extremely flexible with my chaotic schedule.
Going to this center has not only helped my child in the ERB test, but in her schoolwork overall. Sarah has helped my child's essay writing in clear blocks and tips which could be easily followed by an elementary school child. My child's essays in her school are now used as examples of good work and my child has now started writing 'articles' . My child's value for education and her self confidence have really increased. Her math and reading are above a grade level now just after going here for 3 months.
Karen, who works the front desk is such a personable woman and is on top of any accounting. She never misses a beat. She is also thorough in the testing procedures and grading.
I highly recommend this center and particularly teacher Sarah for any parents of children attempting ERB exams.
